Choose A Practical Functional Validation Bundle

Two low-cost protocol versions for validating the Energy Score in practice: a fuller version that includes grip strength, and a lighter version that removes the dynamometer requirement.

Recommendation: Use the grip-strength version when you can standardize a dynamometer. Use the no-grip version when you need a simpler field protocol with almost no equipment.

Full Bundle With Grip Strength

Best for clinics, research pilots, and higher-rigor follow-up. Adds a direct strength or reserve signal on top of chair-rise performance and fatigue burden.

This is the stronger version if your goal is to correlate modeled energy with an objective upper-extremity strength signal.

Version 2

Lean Bundle Without Grip Strength

Best for home tracking, quick clinical pilots, or settings where a dynamometer is not available. Keeps performance and symptom burden, but drops the strength-specific measure.

How To Choose

Which Version To Use

Practical default: for a first pilot, start with the grip-strength version if you have access to a dynamometer. If not, the no-grip version is still a reasonable real-world validation protocol.
